Art Classes
Art Classes for February & March 2010
People who are familiar with the creative experience of relief carving and/or print making may be familiar with the linocut template and print making process. In addition to its widespread use as a flooring material, sheets of linoleum can also be used to carve templates that can be inked for making prints, simliar to the process of woodcut template and print making.
Linoleum, however, is generally considered easier to work with than wood, as it does not have a directional grain, does not tend to split, and is easier to carve than wood. Starting in February 2010, the Art Tree is offering an exciting opportunity to explore the creative possibilities of linocut art with progressive classes on Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:30pm, featuring a unique theme each week. Classes begin Wednesday, February 10, 2010 and end Wednesday, March 03, 2010. Classes are held at the Art Tree. The fee for the group of four linocut classes is $120.00 total per person ($80.00 per person for four classes, plus $40.00 per person for materials and supplies used during the four classes). Do-over classes will be made available for students who may miss a class due to extenuating circumstances. Class sizes will be approximately 6 students. Please register for classes by sending an email to .
