Kathleen Aldous-Schleindl was born in Vancouver and has lived most of her life there, but has also lived in Montreal and Toronto, and now lives in cold but (almost always) sunny Calgary. She graduated from Emily Carr College of Art & Design in 1989 with a Major in Graphic Design; and has been designing, drawing, painting and making things ever since.

Her professional life has consisted mainly of book design for the publishers Fifth House in Calgary; and Penguin Books, Harcourt Brace; Scholastic & DC Heath in Toronto. In addition to publishing, her freelance work has included logos, brochures and advertising.

Creative projects have included painting, illustration, set design, fabric art, clothes, hats, and bags. she believes in all things whimsical, colourful and creative. Vive l’Art!
